Now Hiring: Host/Hostess for New High-Energy Bar!

Location: The Borough – Downingtown, PA

Bring your energy and organization to our front door! As the first face our guests see, you’ll set the tone for an outstanding dining experience.

What You’ll Do:

Greet guests with a smile and a warm welcome
Ask how many are in their party and get them seated with menus
If there are kids, make sure they get kids’ placemats and crayons
Communicate with servers to let them know when a table has been sat in their section
Keep track of which tables are open, occupied, or need to be cleaned
Adjust table settings as needed to match the party size and maintain a clean, organized look
Answer the phone—be ready to share happy hour details, the live music lineup, and daily specials
Take and ring in takeout orders accurately, and handle payments (cash, credit, or gift cards)
Ensure takeout orders are double-checked and go to the correct guest
Seat guests fairly by rotating between server sections to balance the floor
Manage the waitlist and keep waiting guests informed with friendly, timely updates
Communicate clearly with other hosts—especially during shift changes—about open tables, upcoming reservations or parties, and server section assignments
Help out guests with anything they need while they wait or dine
Keep the host stand tidy and help with any front-of-house tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For:

Someone upbeat, dependable, and good with people
Great communication and multitasking skills
Comfortable handling a fast-paced environment (especially during dinner rush)
Experience with phones and POS systems is a plus, but not required—we’ll train the right person
